What's Wrong With The Super Bowl Champs? What About The Falcons? No More Sacksonville? Kirk Cousins Is Overpaid!

Philadephia Eagles are done winning, but they are probably still having fun. Jacksonville Jaguars were supposed to have the best defense in the league this year. Well, their defense isn't better than Tennesse's. Atlanta Falcons came into the season as a Super Bowl contender. They were eliminated by the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving night. And Kirk Cousins...... Let's first talk about the Eagles.

In 2017, no one expected the Philadephia Eagles to get to the Super Bowl and win it. After they accomplished that, they started talking a lot of nonsense about Tom Brady and the New England Patriots! The person who talked the most negative about the Patriots was Lane Johnson. He said, he would rather have fun and win only one Super Bowl than have a miserable life and win five Super Bowls. I guess after winning one Super Bowl, he is okay with his team losing and getting blown out! The Eagles are still in the playoff hunt, but the Dallas Cowboys are the better overall team in the NFC East, and they should win the division. Hopefully, Lane and the Eagles earn some respect for what the Patriots year in and year out.

It isn't so hard to describe 2018 for the Atlanta Falcons. 2018 season was just an awful season for the Falcons in terms of luck. They had way too many key injuries. Their injuries weren't as bad as the San Francisco 49ers', but the Falcons started losing key players on both sides of the ball from day one. However, they didn't lose their quarterback in Matt Ryan and their best player in Julio Jones. So why were they still losing? Injuries are part of the game, but if your best players are still there, shouldn't you still have a winning record rather than a losing record? Yes, you should, but in this case, the Falcons lost their number one running back and two starting offensive lineman on offense, and several key players on defense. All year long, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones have played well. It was just this past Thursday Night game against the New Orleans Saints and the Week five Pittsburgh Steelers' game in which they played way below their level. Time for the Falcons to focus on 2019.

How many times have we seen teams have one good year, and then they start acting like they are the team to beat? We have seen teams like the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos go all the way to Super Bowl one year, and then the next year, they miss the postseason. Last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars went to the AFC Title game after making it to the postseason for the first time in ten years. They lost in the Conference round to the New England Patriots in a pretty close battle. In 2018, many football fans and experts expected the Jaguars to win their division again and go to the postseason in back to back years. Eleven games into the season, they are sitting at 3-8 and as the fourth best team in their division. I guess it's time to focus less on nicknames and gimmicks and focus more on finding ways to win games.

The Minnesota Vikings can have all the talent in the world and a pretty decent coaching crew, and yet, they will still find a way to be disappointing. The Vikings went to the NFC Title game last year with Case Keenum at quarterback and Jerick Mckinnon at running back. This year, they have Kirk Cousins at the quarterback spot and Dalvin Cook as their running back. Yet, they are two losses away from missing the playoffs in 2018. This season proved that Skip Bayless was right all along about Kirk Cousins. We can get the stats from Cousins, but when it's time to win big games, he will find a way to lose the game by either turning the ball over or by taking a sack late in the game, on third and/or fourth down. It was the Rams' game in Week four that had me believe in Skip's analysis on Cousins. The Rams were up 38-31 when Cousins and the Vikings got the ball late in the game for one last drive. That drive ended with Kirk Cousins fumbling the ball. Yes, the opposing defense made a play on the ball, but Cousins could have thrown the ball away or just taken a clean sack. Once the fumble took place, I knew that the Vikings will have a disappointing season. Kirk Cousins is not going to win the Vikings a Super Bowl! He is overpaid!

Surprise of the year?

None another than the Chicago Bears! I didn't expect them to be 8-3 after eleven games into the season. I still don't believe in their quarterback Mitch Trubisky, but they have talent all over the field. Also, Matt Naggy is a genius as a head coach. He lets his defense play freely, as he knows what his defense is capable of. On offense, he comes up with excellent plays to move the ball effectively and score enough points to win. The Bears are not going deep in the playoffs this year, but with the talent and coaching of Matt Naggy, they can win at least one playoff game. Chicago Bears' management and ownership deserve a lot of credit for putting together this team in 2018.

Who Is Going To Be The Green Bay Packers' New Coach?

Last year, the Green Bay Packers missed the playoffs for the first time in nine years. The reason why they couldn't make it to the postseason was that Aaron Rodgers, missed the majority of the season after he suffered an injury in a week six matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. However this year, with Rodgers having played every single game in the season so far, the Packers are 4-7-1 after twelve games. They just lost to the Arizona Cardinals who have a rookie quarterback under center. With that loss, the Packers are now only one loss away from missing the playoffs in back to back years. Last time the Green Bay Packers missed the playoffs in back to back years was in 2005 and 2006.   Oh, following the loss to the Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers' fired their long-time head coach, Mike McCarthy.   All the blame for the Packers being this bad went to Mike McCarthy and the defense. Some of the blame did go to the Packers' running game, but that's about it. Peo

Wildcard Round Was Fun, But The Playoffs Are About To Get Better!

Last week was a good week of football. But you know, that was just the beginning. Rarely teams from the wild-card weekend go on to win Super Bowls. Last time a team that participated in the wild-card round and won a Super Bowl was the Baltimore Ravens from 2012. Is there any chance that a team from the wild-card round could win a Super Bowl this year? In my opinion, there are three teams from the wild-card round, who could win it all. The LA Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and the defending champs, the Philadelphia Eagles. All three teams won their respective wild-card matchups this past week. Let's talk about their path to Super Bowl this year. Dallas Cowboys   So how good are the Dallas Cowboys? They are very good. They are not an elite team, but they can play elite football on certain nights. The Cowboys' defense is really good. Their offense is just above average. Not saying Dak Prescott is an average or a below average quarterback, they just don't have enough playma

What If Calvin Johnson Didn't Retire?

Since 2015, most of the NFL World has been debating whether Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, or Odell Beckham Jr. is the best receiver in the game. Mind you, 2015 was the last season that Calvin Johnson played. According to me, Calvin Johnson was the best receiver until his last season! That guy was big and fast. Calvin Johnson at 6'5, 237 pounds, was able to do everything one could ask a receiver to do. I started watching football in 2010. Calvin was the receiver who caught my eye. Time after time, I saw him double covered and then him beating the coverage to catch the ball for a big gain. There were times when he was triple-covered and he still made a play. I doubt there was a corner, who wasn't scared of him. How do you stop someone so big, strong, and fast? You can't! You just can't stop this beast! However, Calvin chose to retire at the age of 30, after playing nine seasons. He retired after six straight seasons with over 1000 receiving yards. It didn't seem l
