Who Is Going To Be The Green Bay Packers' New Coach?

Last year, the Green Bay Packers missed the playoffs for the first time in nine years. The reason why they couldn't make it to the postseason was that Aaron Rodgers, missed the majority of the season after he suffered an injury in a week six matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. However this year, with Rodgers having played every single game in the season so far, the Packers are 4-7-1 after twelve games. They just lost to the Arizona Cardinals who have a rookie quarterback under center. With that loss, the Packers are now only one loss away from missing the playoffs in back to back years. Last time the Green Bay Packers missed the playoffs in back to back years was in 2005 and 2006.

Oh, following the loss to the Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers' fired their long-time head coach, Mike McCarthy.

All the blame for the Packers being this bad went to Mike McCarthy and the defense. Some of the blame did go to the Packers' running game, but that's about it. People like Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd, Jason Whitlock, and myself did put some blame on Rodgers. I think he deserves a lot of blame for the Packers being so awful this year. I mean come on, we are talking about Aaron Rodgers! He is one of the best quarterbacks of all-time. He was better than Brees and Big Ben for most of this decade. What has happened to him? His numbers are good this season as they always are, but it isn't always about the numbers. Numbers don't win games for the team, when would people understand that? Kirk Cousins put up great numbers for the Washington Redskins for three years, and they came away with no playoff wins in any of those years. So why are we defending Aaron Rodgers' 21:1 TD to interception ratio when his team has a record of 4-7-1?

Let me give you all an example of how skewed Rodgers' numbers are. You guys remember the Seattle Seahawks game on Thursday night earlier this year? Rodgers' finished that game with 21-30 (70%) for 332 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. To finish a game on the road with completing seventy percent of passes is amazing, but what we fail to realize is that Rodgers' passing percentage dropped down at the end of the game. After the Seahawks had taken a three-point lead with about five minutes to go in the game, Rodgers came to the field with a chance to tie the game or take the lead. Guess what he did in his last drive of the game? He threw an incompletion on first down. On second down, he completed a pass for eight yards. Now Rodgers and the Packers' are facing a 3rd & 2 at their own 33. Rodgers' will definitely get the first down. Um.... no? He threw the ball straight into the ground and came away with an incompletion. Mike McCarthy couldn't believe that Rodgers was unable to complete a pass on 3rd & 2. 3rd &2! Then the Packers punt the ball back to Seahawks and never got the ball back, as the Seahawks ran the clock to zero.

So what coach could come to Green Bay and tell Rodgers and his fanboys that it is not about finishing the game with a seventy percent completion rate. It is about you doing everything in your power to complete the necessary and urgent throws to win football games. It is about making the right decision. It is about execution! Who is going to turn around Aaron Rodgers' career? Bruce Arians? Jim Harbaugh? Hue Jackson? Bob Stoops? Following are the five coaches who should consider going to Green Bay next season, to coach the great Aaron Rodgers.

Bruce Arians. In 2013, it was Bruce Arians who brought Carson Palmer back from the dead. I don't mean literally, but Carson Palmer's career seemed to be over after his first year with the Oakland Raiders in 2011. Two years later, Carson Palmer signed with the Arizona Cardinals and he started to look like his old self. In 2015, Carson Palmer played the best football of his career as he finished the year with over 4600 passing yards and 35 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. Palmer played all sixteen games that season and led the Arizona Cardinals to a 13-3 record. If Bruce Arians could do that for Carson Palmer, imagine what he could do with Aaron Rodgers, who is ten times better? Aaron Rodgers just needs a fresh start. He needs a new voice like Drew Brees needed with Sean Payton in 2006. I do know that Bruce Arians recently said, that he has no desire to coach the Green Bay Packers, but if he does come to coach them, he will have a great opportunity to do amazing things with Aaron Rodgers.

Jim Harbaugh. He just can't win the big game in college. Jim Harbaugh can't beat Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Maybe he isn't suited for college. He needs to come back to the NFL, where he took the San Francisco 49ers to the conference championship game three times in four years. Harbaugh took the 49ers to two NFC Title games and the Super Bowl with Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick. If you combine both of those guys, they still don't add up to how good Aaron Rodgers is. If Harbaugh had Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback, during the three-year span in which he took the 49ers to three straight NFC Title games, he could have won two or at least one Super Bowl in the NFL. He now has the opportunity to come back to professional football, coach Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, and win some trophies with them.

Mike Shanahan. Isn't he 65 years old? He is old and out of the league for the past five years. Why would he wanna come back to the NFL and start coaching again? Well if he comes back and wins some championships, and gets to turn around Aaron Rodgers' career, Mike Shanahan will improve his legacy significantly. Not that he left the NFL as a coach who couldn't get it done, but he didn't leave in good terms. Shanahan should have never taken the Washington Redskins job. Owner of the Redskins Dan Snyder likes to do things his way. So because of bad ownership, Shanahan didn't get to do the things that he wanted to do with the Washington Redskins. He was forced to draft and coach Robert Griffin III when he wanted to draft somebody else. Mike Shanahan did get to have one good year with RGIII in 2012, but that was it. Shanahan knew that RGIII wasn't going to work in the NFL. He was right about that, as RGIII is now a third-string quarterback. Nobody is asking Shanahan to come and coach the Green Bay Packers for five to ten years. The Packers just need Shanahan to be there for three to four years, and they need him to help Rodgers do what he did with John Elway, during Elway's last two years in the league.

Josh McDaniels. He didn't work out for the Denver Broncos in 2009 and 2010, but now McDaniels is a different coach. He is mature and has much better knowledge of football than he had ten years ago. McDaniels is the perfect coach for Aaron Rodgers right now. For Rodgers, he can be what Sean McVay has been for Jared Goff, what Doug Pederson has been for Carson Wentz, or what Matt Naggy has been for Mitch Trubisky. In my opinion, he is the most talented offensive coordinator in the NFL! McDaniels can do wonders with Aaron Rodgers. He can do far more impressive things with Rodgers than what Kyle Shanahan was able to with Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons in 2016. There are going to be times when Josh McDaniels will argue and get into a shouting match with Rodgers, but in the end, they will find a way to work it out and win some football games. Right now, there is nobody better than Josh McDaniels for the head coach job in Green Bay. Well, there could be one coach, who might be a better fit than McDaniels for this position. He is...

Bill Belichick. He is currently coaching Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and his team is in prime position to go to the playoffs as the number one seed and participate in another Super Bowl. Why would the Patriots' owner, Robert Kraft will let go of Bill Belichick? I don't think Robert Kraft will let go of Belichick. The only way Belichick could leave New England for Green Bay is if he goes to Robert Kraft and tells him that he wants to resign as the head coach of the Patriots. It would be such a huge drama if Belichick decides to leave Tom Brady and the Patriots, and goes onto form an alliance with Aaron Rodgers. This way, the world will get to see what Belichick could do with Aaron Rodgers, and what Brady could do without Belichick. If Belichick does leave, Josh McDaniels will most likely be promoted as the head coach of the Patriots. Aaron Rodgers will get the best coach of all-time on his side. Just having Belichick on the sidelines will motivate Rodgers and bring the best out of him. However, once Belichick gets there, he will also need to take on the general manager duty. The Packers' ownership should hand the gm/head coach job to Belichick without even thinking twice!

We have long ways to go until the 2019 offseason, but I believe Josh McDaniels is the most likely candidate to be the next Green Bay Packers' coach. McDaniels is no Belichick, but he is the best option available for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Wildcard Round Was Fun, But The Playoffs Are About To Get Better!

Last week was a good week of football. But you know, that was just the beginning. Rarely teams from the wild-card weekend go on to win Super Bowls. Last time a team that participated in the wild-card round and won a Super Bowl was the Baltimore Ravens from 2012. Is there any chance that a team from the wild-card round could win a Super Bowl this year? In my opinion, there are three teams from the wild-card round, who could win it all. The LA Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and the defending champs, the Philadelphia Eagles. All three teams won their respective wild-card matchups this past week. Let's talk about their path to Super Bowl this year. Dallas Cowboys   So how good are the Dallas Cowboys? They are very good. They are not an elite team, but they can play elite football on certain nights. The Cowboys' defense is really good. Their offense is just above average. Not saying Dak Prescott is an average or a below average quarterback, they just don't have enough playma

What If Calvin Johnson Didn't Retire?

Since 2015, most of the NFL World has been debating whether Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, or Odell Beckham Jr. is the best receiver in the game. Mind you, 2015 was the last season that Calvin Johnson played. According to me, Calvin Johnson was the best receiver until his last season! That guy was big and fast. Calvin Johnson at 6'5, 237 pounds, was able to do everything one could ask a receiver to do. I started watching football in 2010. Calvin was the receiver who caught my eye. Time after time, I saw him double covered and then him beating the coverage to catch the ball for a big gain. There were times when he was triple-covered and he still made a play. I doubt there was a corner, who wasn't scared of him. How do you stop someone so big, strong, and fast? You can't! You just can't stop this beast! However, Calvin chose to retire at the age of 30, after playing nine seasons. He retired after six straight seasons with over 1000 receiving yards. It didn't seem l
