Top 100 Players List Never Makes Sense!

Every year since the 2010-2011 season, NFL has been coming up with a list of hundred best players in the league according to the active players. It takes NFL Network about two to three months to reveal all the players from the list. Nobody is certain how the NFL comes up with this list. As in, no one knows exactly what the 'Top 100 Players List' is based on. When I first started watching these rankings on NFL Network, I thought that the list was based on performances of the players from the prior year. Then I came to find that the list is basically predicting the best hundred players for the upcoming season. For instance, if the list is revealed after the 2016-17 season, it ranks the players for how good they are going to be in the 2017-18 season, not how well they performed in 2016-17. However, once all the players are revealed on the list, most of us fans tend to believe that the list was based on performances from the previous season. Sometimes the rankings make se...

How The AFC Will Look Like In 2018?

In all my previous posts, I have repeatedly said that the NFL is a very competitive league. It is hard to repeat as Super Bowl Champs in professional football. NFL, unlike the NBA, doesn't allow two teams to dominate their conferences for four straight years. However, there is one team in the American Football Conference (AFC) that has dominated its conference for the majority of the last fifteen years. Since 2010, the Patriots have either finished as the number one seed or as the number two seed. That means for eight straight years they have had a bye week in the first-round of the playoffs. In the same time-span, the Patriots have been to seven AFC-Title games, four Super Bowls and won two of them. They, in such a competitive league, have pretty much controlled the AFC. Now with all the tension going on within the organization and the rise of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has given hope to all the non-Patriots' fans that they will see someone else control the playoffs in th...

How Is NFC Going To Look Like In 2018?

NFC is loaded with great teams. Which NFC team is going to finish first in 2018? Who is going to finish last? Who is going to the playoffs? Which team will go through a rough losing streak? Who is going to dominate the regular season? Who will make it to the Super Bowl from NFC? So many players, teams, coaches, rivalries, and storylines to cover from just the National Football Conference this year. It is not easy to predict standings for an NFL season, but every year experts try to do their best predictions. I will give the best details possible for what NFC is going to look like in 2018. In this post, we will discuss the division champs, four-teams in contention for the wild-card round, and two teams that will finish at the very bottom of the NFC. 2 018 Division Champions .   In 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles finished first place, Minnesota Vikings finished second, Los Angeles Rams finished third, and the New Orleans Saints finished fourth. All four teams won t...

Five Best Defenses Heading Into 2018.

I will always take an explosive offense over a very good defense. I enjoy an offense beating out a defense on plays to get the ball into the end-zone. However, I have to admit that sometimes watching a defense making a crucial stop and forcing a turnover out of nowhere gets me off my chair. To win in the NFL consistently you need a good offense and a good defense. Once in a while, an extraordinary defense is able to carry a below average-offense to a Super Bowl title. Ravens in 2000, Buccaneers in 2002, and Broncos in 2015 are three defenses that carried very mediocre offenses to Super Bowls. I also wanted to say Seattle Seahawks' defense in 2013 carried a mediocre offense to Super Bowl, but that offense did have a quarterback with mobility, an all-pro running back, and two very good receivers. For the upcoming season, there are five defenses that can be very special. Let's take a look at the teams with the best defenses to offer in 2018. Philadephia Eagles. ...

Why NFL Will Always Be Better Than NBA!

The NBA Conference Finals was painful to watch. After game fives of both Eastern and Western Conference Finals, I knew exactly what was going to happen. The Boston Celtics had a 3-2 lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East, and the Houston Rockets had their 3-2 lead against the Golden State Warriors in the West. For the past three seasons, NBA has featured the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, so why were we expecting anything different this year? Once the Cavs and Warriors fell 2-3 in their series, I called for two straight victories for both clubs. That is exactly what happened with both the Cavs and the Warriors winning game seven on the road. Seemed like NBA had written a Hollywood script for this year's path to NBA Finals. In the NFL, nothing seems scripted for the regular-season and/or the post-season. There are several reasons why NBA can't never be as good as the NFL! Let's examine how much better the NFL is compa...

Best Wide Receivers In The NFL.

How valuable are wide receivers to their teams?   As a fan, I enjoy watching wide receivers make incredible plays on the field. It is thrilling to see a receiver make catches with one hand, catch passes with two feet inbounds, and running by defensive backs for big gains and/or touchdowns. Quarterbacks appreciate a reliable wideout. They like to have one dependable wide receiver on their side to whom they could throw the ball to for a huge conversion or for a much-needed score. It is considered a luxury to have a superstar wide receiver on your team. However, teams don't need an ultra-talented wide-out to win playoff games and championships. Last elite receiver to win a Super Bowl was Marvin Harrison in 2006. It has been a decade plus now since an elite receiver helped his team win a Super Bowl. Receivers don't have to be great to win Super Bowls. They just need to make great clutch plays to win big games for their teams. For instance, David Tyree in 2007 season made a he...

Can Brady & The Patriots Win Their Sixth Ring Next Year?

Three months ago, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots fell short of winning their sixth Lombardi Trophy. Tom Brady was close to becoming the only player with six rings, but the Philadephia Eagles denied him of that. That night, the Eagles wanted their first ring more than the Patriots wanted their sixth. After falling short to the Eagles 41-33, the question that everyone has been asking now is if the Patriots could get back to the Super Bowl and win it for the sixth time before Brady retires? I believe that is what they are aiming for and they have a great opportunity to do it within two years! Resetting the roster for 2018!   The Patriots just went through an offseason in which they made all the moves to reload for another Super Bowl run. They didn't make any moves to rebuild for the future or to move on from Tom Brady. There were some reports that they were interested in drafting quarterbacks like Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson in the draft. However, they pass...
