NFL Is So Good!

San Francisco 49ers have found their golden quarterback!   In this league, it is hard to find a true franchise quarterback. A quarterback who will be good enough to stay on the team's roster for at least a decade. A quarterback who will take his team to playoffs on a consistent basis. Miami Dolphins are still looking for a quarterback to take reigns from Dan Marino, who retired twenty years ago. Buffalo Bills are still struggling to find a quarterback to replace Jim Kelly, the quarterback who never won a Super Bowl, but was at least good enough to get to four straight Super Bowls. Jackosniville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings both have great rosters, and both teams made it all the way to the Conference Championship round this past season, but both of them haven't had a consistent quarterback for a while now. Also, the Washington Redskins always come up short with finding a superstar quarterback. They initially thought they had found their quarterback with Kirk Cousins, but...

Philadelphia Eagles, it is your time!   I predicted the Philadelphia Eagles to go one and done in this years' playoffs. How could I expect a team to win a playoff game against the defending NFC Champions, who were in full strength, coming off with a playoff win in the previous round, and were more experienced? The only way I saw the Atlanta Falcons losing to the Eagles was if they do a choke job, or if a major injury takes place against them. Also, another way the Falcons could have lost that game was if the Eagles played lights out, and with pride in front of their home crowd. I am certain that I wasn't the only one who picked the Falcons to win against the Eagles. Atlanta Falcons had four chances late in the game to take the lead and win it. They didn't, Eagles got the ball back and ran out the clock. Following week in the Championship round, I didn't give them any short at all to beat the Minnesota Vikings. Well, the Vikings came to play only one drive in the ...

A football game might not have equal value for the two teams.   In the National Football League, every single game has some meaning to it. There are some games which one team could not afford to lose. When a team is going up against its rival and hasn't won a game against them in the last two to three meetings, then they know they can't lose for the fourth straight time. If a team loses four straight games against its rival then, how is it considered a rivalry among the two? It would seem like a rivalry dominated by just one team. I honestly believe that there is no rivalry between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers and I will explain you why exactly! When you think of a team getting into the playoffs on a consistent basis, do you think of the Lions or the Packers? When you think about great quarterbacks, do you think of the quarterbacks of the Lions or of the Packers? When you think of Super titles, do you think of the Lions who have never even played in one...

Carson Palmer Retires After 15 Seasons!   Two greats were drafted in the year 2004. Their careers started with drama. Then the two turned drama into success. Both Eli Manning and Philip Rivers have achieved a lot so far in their careers. But just an year before the two were drafted, their was another quarterback who came into the NFL, as the number one pick with a lot of expectation. That quarterback was Carson Palmer who, came out of USC and went to Cincinnati Bengals. He was expected to be the next Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, or at least be the third best quarterback in the NFL just behind them. Also, he was expected to take Cincinnati Bengals to the playoffs for the first time in over a decade and then win games there! In 2005, Palmer did get to end the Bengals' fifteen year drought of playoff appearance. He had a spectacular year statistically, but he couldn't get to help his team win a playoff game. He got hurt on the first play of the game. Then in the next few ye...

The New England Patriots dynasty will end. Minnesota Vikings will become the first team ever to host a Super Bowl in its own stadium. Patriots dynasty didn't end and the Vikings are not heading back to Minneapolis to get themselves ready for hosting the Super Bowl this year. I have said it before, it is extremely hard to predict the accurate results in the National Football League. Especially in the playoffs! I gave the Eagles no chance of representing NFC in the Super Bowl, but they won their two playoff games and now are heading to Super Bowl. First I picked the Atlanta Falcons to upset them in the divisional round, last week. It didn't go that way. Then this past weekend for the conference championship game, I picked the Vikings to beat the Eagles easily. After what I saw in the divisional round with Vikings winning their matchup against a very good New Orleans Saints team and Eagles barely winning against the Atlanta Falcons (the game in which Nick Foles threw a...

Super Bowl is easily the biggest game of the year. However, one could argue that better football is played two weeks prior to Super Bowl, in the championship round. Four teams battle it out for a chance to compete in the big game on Super Sunday. The conference championship weekend has witnessed one of the greatest games in NFL history. The 1994 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys was a memorable game in which, Steve Young and the 49ers finally broke through against the powerful Cowboys of the 90s. Then we have the 1998 NFC championship game between the Minnesota Vikings with their high offense against the Atlanta Falcons, who were the big underdogs in that matchup. Vikings were supposed to dominate the Falcons and cruise to the Super Bowl game. That didn't happen but something else happened. Gary Anderson, one of the best kickers in the league, missed a very important kick late in the game to seal the deal. Falcons took advantage of it, came right...
